            The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national-level examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India. The exam is held twice a year, and the next one is scheduled for December 2023. The CTET exam is a gateway for aspiring teachers to secure a teaching job in primary and upper primary schools across India.                  The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the 18th edition of Central TeacherEligibility Test (CTET) on 21-01-2024 (Sunday). The test will be conducted in twenty languages in135 cities all over the country. The last date forsubmitting online application is 23-11-2023 and fee can be paid upto 23-11-2023 till 11:59 pm.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the CTET exam, candidates must meet the following criteria:

      Minimum Qualification: Candidates must have a minimum qualification of a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute.

     Minimum Marks: Candidates must score a minimum of 50% marks in their qualifying exam.
Age Limit: There is no age limit for appearing in the CTET exam.

Exam Pattern

                  The CTET exam is conducted in two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for candidates who wish to teach classes I to V, while Paper 2 is for candidates who wish to teach classes VI to VIII. Both papers are conducted for a duration of 2.5 hours and consist of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) 2. Each question carries one mark, and there is no negative marking for wrong answers.

Syllabus

        The CTET exam syllabus is divided into two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. The syllabus for both papers is as follows:
Paper 1 

    Child Development and Pedagogy: This section tests the candidate’s understanding of the concepts of educational psychology, child development, and teaching methodologies.

Language I (compulsory): This section tests the candidate’s proficiency in the language of instruction.

Language II (compulsory): This section tests the candidate’s proficiency in a language other than Language I.
  Mathematics: This section tests the candidate’s understanding of mathematical concepts taught in classes I to V.
  Environmental Studies: This section tests the candidate’s understanding of environmental concepts taught in classes I to V.
Paper 2 

   Child Development and Pedagogy: This section tests the candidate’s understanding of the concepts of educational psychology, child development, and teaching methodologies.
